Angela Marie Newell graduated from The University of South Florida in 1998 with a Degree in Mass Communications. Her experience in Event Planning has consisted of coordinating numerous events for Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks, a private yacht on Harbor Island in Tampa and many other private and corporate events throughout the State of Florida as well as her beach wedding in 2006 on Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean. Angela’s dream of becoming a wedding coordinator and event planner continues to come true each and every time she meets a client for the first time.

Sunshine Celebrations, LLC was created in 2001 and has succeeded in becoming a premiere event planning company in Central Florida. Sunshine Celebrations assisted in bringing back weddings to Cypress Gardens in 2007. Angela currently resides in Lakeland, Florida with her Husband, Scott and Son, Evan.

I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management. My professional career has been spent working in Human Resources at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. I have a strong background in HR employee relations, recruiting and employment. I also had the opportunity to coordinate events for LRMC, such as, banquets and employee of the month celebrations.

I was able to enjoy my own wedding in 2005. My husband, Steve, and I were married at the historic Polk Theatre in downtown Lakeland and was truly a dream wedding!

I am thrilled to be part of Cypress Gardens Weddings. Getting married under the historic white gazebo in the beautiful botanical gardens will be a one of a kind experience for our clients.
